Genital tract infections in women are widespread, and when not detected or not adequately managed, they result in chronic pain, infertility, and pregnancy-related complications. The session examines the identification, diagnosis, and management of pelvic inflammatory disease and other infections of the genital tract. Physicians and microbiologists shall share knowledge on the existing treatment guidelines, increasing difficulties posed by antimicrobial resistance and the significance of managing partners and prevention of the disease.
