Professor Lord Robert Winston is an internationally renowned medical pioneer, scientist, and broadcaster who serves as Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College London. Globally recognized for his groundbreaking work in reproductive medicine, he pioneered gynaecological microsurgery and co-developed techniques for pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, transforming the field of IVF and fertility treatment. Alongside his distinguished research career, Lord Winston is one of the UK’s most prominent science communicators, having authored over 20 books and hosted award-winning BBC documentaries such as The Human Body and Child of Our Time. A passionate advocate for STEM education, he founded the Wohl Reach Out Lab to inspire the next generation of scientists. He also actively contributes to UK science policy and ethics as a Labour Life Peer in the House of Lords.
